Walker Evan’s history in the sport is legendary, but so was his influence, as he alone has worked with, and eventually spawned more racers, engine builders, crew chiefs, and businessmen, during his 30- year career in motorsports. This is one of the reasons why he’s considered the “grandfather” of off-road racing. “Over the years, I shared some of my career with lots of people,” said Evans. “We’ve hired eight to 10 different drivers for four different vehicles in some races.
