Based in Bakersfield, California, Chris Boyer has established himself as a formidable competitor in SCORE's demanding VW-powered desert racing divisions. Racing alongside his father Rick Boyer, the duo has proven their mettle in the grueling Class 1/2-1600 category, where 1600cc Volkswagen engines power single or two-seat vehicles through Baja's most challenging terrain.

Their most notable achievement came at the prestigious 50th SCORE Baja 1000, where the Boyer father-son team piloted their #1662 Lothringer to an impressive fourth-place finish in Class 1/2-1600. Completing the legendary 1,134-mile peninsula run in 30:04:20, they demonstrated exceptional endurance and skill in one of desert racing's most competitive categories. The achievement was particularly remarkable considering the class fielded 20 starters, with more than half successfully finishing the grueling race despite navigating through heavy traffic and massive boulder sections that characterize Baja's unforgiving landscape.
