Biography

Competing in the demanding UTV Forced Induction class, this Murrieta-based desert racer has established himself as a determined competitor in SCORE's premier off-road championship series. His gritty performance at the legendary Baja 1000 demonstrates the perseverance and skill required to conquer one of motorsport's most challenging events, finishing 9th in class after over 33 hours of grueling desert racing in his Polaris.

At 51, Lopez brings decades of experience to the technical demands of modern UTV racing, where precision driving and mechanical reliability are paramount. The UTV Forced Induction class represents some of the most competitive racing in SCORE, featuring heavily modified turbocharged machines capable of tackling Baja's most treacherous terrain at incredible speeds.

His participation in SCORE's World Desert Championship Series places him among an elite group of racers who tackle the peninsula's most demanding courses, from the high-speed sections near San Felipe to the rocky technical challenges of the southern loop. Lopez's commitment to competing at the highest levels of desert racing reflects the dedication required to master Baja's unforgiving landscape, where mechanical failures and navigation errors can end campaigns instantly.
