Fresh off his historic 2017 SCORE Baja 1000 overall victory, Carlos 'Apdaly' Lopez continues to cement his legacy as one of Mexico's most accomplished desert racers. The Tecate native made motorsports history when he and his father Juan C. Lopez conquered the grueling 1,134-mile peninsula run from Ensenada to La Paz, becoming only the second Mexican nationals team to claim the legendary race's ultimate prize.
Lopez's breakthrough came after years of steady progression through SCORE's premier classes. His 2015 SCORE Baja 500 Trophy Truck victory marked him as a rising force, while his 2013 Trophy Truck Spec triumph at the same event showcased his versatility across multiple platforms. The young racer's ascent culminated in 2015 when he became the first Mexican national to capture the SCORE World Desert Championship, breaking new ground for his homeland's racing community.
Operating from the border town of Tecate, Lopez represents a new generation of Mexican desert racing talent.
