Following impressive performances in Class 7 competition, Mike Shaffer has established himself as one of SCORE's most consistent desert racing competitors. The Alameda, California native recently captured his second Class 7 victory at the 2023 BFGoodrich SCORE Baja 1000 Presented by K&N, demonstrating his continued excellence in the world's most challenging desert endurance race.

Shaffer's Baja 1000 dominance spans multiple years, with class victories in both 2023 and 2019, showcasing his ability to master the grueling 1,000-mile course through Baja California's unforgiving terrain. His podium consistency was further proven with a third-place class finish in 2021, underlining his elite-level competitiveness against the world's best desert racers.

The veteran competitor has built an impressive career foundation with three career Baja 1000 wins spanning 2006, 2007, and 2008, establishing himself among SCORE's accomplished multi-race winners. His expertise in Class 7's open production mini truck category has made him a formidable competitor in one of desert racing's most competitive divisions.
