George Marsh

Bayfield, CO - #1070

Biography

Colorado's high-country competitor brings Rocky Mountain grit to the Baja Peninsula, showcasing impressive endurance and tactical racing skills in SCORE's most demanding events. Racing the grueling Class 10 division, George Marsh demonstrated his desert racing prowess with a solid sixth-place finish in the legendary 2017 SCORE Baja 1000, completing the punishing 1,134-mile course from Ensenada to La Paz in just over 27 hours behind the wheel of his Tatum-Chevy.

The Bayfield-based racer assembled a formidable crew for that historic 50th anniversary Baja 1000, including co-drivers John Gilleland from Durango, Phoenix's Randy Ellis, and local Colorado talent Max Holmes and Gabe Gilleland. His team's strategic approach and mechanical reliability proved crucial in conquering one of desert racing's most challenging courses, navigating treacherous terrain that eliminated half the Class 10 field.

Operating from Colorado's Four Corners region, Marsh brings a unique high-altitude perspective to sea-level desert racing, where his mountain driving experience translates perfectly to Baja's technical sections. His consistent finishing record in SCORE's premier events reflects the dedication and preparation required to compete at the sport's highest level, representing Colorado's growing presence in international desert racing competition.
