Grand Junction, CO - #1788

Biography

Capturing the legendary SCORE Baja 1000 class championship in 2017, this Grand Junction, Colorado desert racing veteran proved his mettle by conquering the grueling 1000-mile peninsula race in the JeepSpeed Challenge. Behind the wheel of his #1788 Jeep Wrangler, he dominated Class 1700 competition alongside co-drivers Jason Hutter, Paul Blangsted, Shelby Bates, Jake Maness, and Mark Gasham, completing the punishing course in 45 hours, 15 minutes, and 49 seconds at an average speed of 25.06 mph.

The championship run exemplified the teamwork and endurance required to succeed in SCORE's most demanding race, where mechanical failures and brutal terrain claim the majority of starters. As the sole finisher in a field of two Class 1700 entries, this accomplishment underscores both the difficulty of the class and the preparation required for Baja success.

Competing in one of desert racing's most challenging platforms, the JeepSpeed Challenge demands equal parts driving skill, mechanical reliability, and strategic navigation. This Baja 1000 class victory represents the pinnacle achievement for any JeepSpeed competitor, cementing a legacy built on conquering Mexico's most unforgiving racing environment.
