‘The Luke’ McMillin joins SCORE Dusty Dozen

of SCORE Baja Triple Crown Award winners

    ENSENADA, Baja California, Mexico—Adding another glistening jewel to the stunning three-generation McMillin Family Racing crown, Luke ‘The Luke’ McMillin has joined two family members on the elite list of just a Dusty Dozen racers who have earned SCORE Baja Triple Crown Awards in the glorious 53-year history of SCORE International, the World’s Foremost Desert Racing Organization.

     ‘The Luke’, youngest of the current generation of McMillin family racers at 33, who lives in San Diego like all of the illustrious McMillin clan, earned his unique place by winning the overall at the recent BFGoodrich Tires 58th SCORE Baja 500 in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.

‘THE LUKE’

     In his ever-expanding career, ‘The Luke’ has now earned eight 4-wheel overalls total in the three traditional SCORE Baja races: the SCORE San Felipe 250, the SCORE Baja 500, and the SCORE Baja 1000.  His uncle Scott McMillin and his cousin Andy McMillin are also SCORE Baja Triple Crown Award winners with eight total overalls as well as ‘The Luke’.

     For ‘The Luke’, he now has four overalls in the iconic SCORE Baja 1000 and three in the SCORE San Felipe 250, the youngest of the three SCORE Baja Triple Crown races at 39 years old, and his first in this year’s SCORE Baja 500.

    Following his two season-opening SCORE Trophy Truck victories this season ‘The Luke’ now has earned eight career SCORE Trophy Truck race victories.

‘THE LUKE’ COMMENTS

     At the finish line of the SCORE Baja 500, the grateful Luke McMillin said, "It's a great way to start the SCORE season with two wins in a row. And my first SCORE Baja 500 in a SCORE Trophy Truck, so super excited about that. We've won it in a 1600, a Class 1, and now a SCORE Trophy Truck.  Now, we've earned the SCORE Baja Triple Crown. So that's really, really special to me. It's like a huge milestone in my life. Going for the SCORE Baja Grand Slam next.”

     "It's just something I've always wanted to do, and today's the day. So it was just, it was such a fun day. We're just chasing people. I mean, we're 15 yards off them and in the rocks and just a lot of fun, honestly. It's fun when your truck's working good. My SCORE Trophy Truck today (June 6) was just unbelievably smooth and just hooked on the road. Just really connected. So, hats off to the team, Monster Energy, McMillin Racing, BFGoodrich Tires, Method Race Wheels, and Jason Duncan as my excellent navigator. Everything really came together. Just great."

     Two of these ‘Dusty Dozen’ all-star racers (Alan Ampudia and Bryce Menzies) are also recipients of the SCORE Baja Grand Slam Award, which includes the SCORE Baja 400 that debuted in 2019.

SCORE BAJA TRIPLE CROWN NUMBERS

     Leading the Dusty Dozen in SCORE Baja Triple Crown victories is Rob ‘The G.O.A.T.’ with 16 total, followed closely by Ivan ‘Ironman’ Stewart with 14, third is Lighting Larry Ragland with 12, and fourth is Andy ‘The Professor’ McMillin with 11 all-time overalls in SCORE Baja Triple Crown races.

“El Luke” se une a la "Docena Dorada" de ganadores de la Triple Corona de las Bajas

Ganadores overall de vehículos de carros en las tres tradicionales carreras de SCORE International en la península de Baja California, dentro del Campeonato Mundial del Desierto de SCORE International

 

     ENSENADA, Baja California, México– Al agregar una nueva y brillante joya a la impresionante corona de tres generaciones de la familia McMillin en el Off-Road, Luke “El Luke” McMillin se unió a dos integrantes más de su familia dentro de la exclusiva lista de apenas una "Docena Dorada" de corredores que han conquistado la Triple Corona de las Bajas de SCORE, en los gloriosos 53 años de historia de SCORE International, la organización de carreras fuera de camino más importante del mundo.

     "El Luke", el más joven de la actual generación de pilotos de la familia McMillin, con 33 años y residente de San Diego, California, al igual que el resto de la ilustre Dinastía McMillin, escribió un nuevo capítulo en su carrera al conquistar el triunfo overall en la reciente edición 58 de la BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 500, celebrada en Ensenada, Baja California, México.

“EL LUKE”

     Dentro de una trayectoria que continúa creciendo, "El Luke" ya suma ocho triunfos overall en carros dentro de las tres tradicionales carreras de SCORE en la península de Baja California: la SCORE San Felipe 250, la SCORE Baja 500 y la SCORE Baja 1000. Su tío Scott McMillin y su primo Andy McMillin también forman parte del selecto grupo de ganadores de la Triple Corona de las Bajas de SCORE, igualmente con ocho victorias en forma overall.

     En el caso de Luke, presume ahora cuatro triunfos overall en la legendaria SCORE Baja 1000, tres en la SCORE San Felipe 250, la más joven de las tres competencias de la Triple Corona de las Bajas con 39 años de historia, y su primera victoria overall en la SCORE Baja 500, conseguida este año.

      Tras abrir la temporada 2026 con dos victorias consecutivas en la clase SCORE Trophy Trucks, "El Luke" llegó también a ocho triunfos de la categoría estelar de SCORE International, misma que fue creada por el antiguo dueño de SCORE International, Sal Fish.

LAS PALABRAS DE “EL LUKE”

     Al cruzar la meta de la SCORE Baja 500, un emocionado Luke McMillin comentó:

"Es una forma extraordinaria de comenzar la temporada de SCORE con dos victorias consecutivas. Además, es mi primera SCORE Baja 500 ganada en un SCORE Trophy Truck, así que estoy muy emocionado por ello. Ya habíamos ganado esta carrera en un Clase ½-1600 y en un Clase 1, y ahora lo logramos en un SCORE Trophy Truck. Con ello conseguimos también la Triple Corona de las Bajas de SCORE, algo realmente muy especial para mí. Es uno de los logros más importantes de mi vida. Ahora vamos por el SCORE Baja Grand Slam."

     "Siempre fue algo que soñé conseguir, y hoy finalmente llegó ese día. Fue una jornada increíble. Estuvimos persiguiendo a otros competidores prácticamente a unos cuantos metros de distancia, atravesando zonas de roca, y sinceramente fue muy divertido. Todo es más disfrutable cuando tu truck funciona a la perfección. Hoy (6 de Junio) mi SCORE Trophy Truck estuvo simplemente impecable, muy estable y perfectamente plantado sobre la ruta.
