    ENSENADA, Baja California, Mexico— Craig Scanlon is living his passion to the fullest, racing Off-Road vehicles across the legendary deserts of Mexico's magical Baja California Peninsula. Following spectacular victories at the King Shocks 39th SCORE San Felipe 250 and the BFGoodrich Tires 58th SCORE Baja 500, he sits atop the Overall Point Standings in the 2026 SCORE World Desert Championship.

With 250 championship points, Scanlon, 52, Orange, Calif. racer has returned to the wheel of a Polaris UTV after previously winning virtually everything as the founder of the factory Polaris SCI Motorsports team. Partnering with Travis Clarke, Scanlon helped pave the way for Polaris to become the dominant force in SCORE competition and Off-Road racing around the world.

     The No. 3931 Scanlon/Vanderloo Racing Polaris RZR R has enjoyed an outstanding first half of the 2026 SCORE season, dominating the Pro UTV Stock class. Joining Scanlon's championship effort are Justin Morgan, 36, El Cajon, Calif., one of Baja's most accomplished motorcycle champions, and Blake Vanderloo, 58, Morristown, Ariz., as the trio stands halfway to capturing the 2026 class championship.

     Only two races remain on the schedule for Scanlon, Morgan, and Vanderloo—the 7th SCORE Baja 400 in Ensenada, Baja California, and the BFGoodrich Tires 59th SCORE Baja 1000 in San Jose del Cabo, Baja California Sur. For the first time in SCORE history, the legendary "Mother of All Off-Road Races" will be contested entirely within the state of Baja California Sur.

     Founded originally in 1973 in Southern California, the four-race 2026 SCORE World Desert Championship is being held exclusively in Baja California, Mexico, for the 11th consecutive season. SCORE is known globally as the World’s Foremost Desert Racing Organization.

WELLS PERFECT THROUGH THE FIRST HALF OF 2026

     Kaden Wells, 27, Hurricane, Utah, is halfway to capturing his second consecutive Pro UTV FI class championship after winning both the King Shocks SCORE San Felipe 250 and the BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 500 in his No. 2925 Can-Am Maverick R. With those back-to-back victories, Wells has accumulated 245 championship points through the first two rounds of the 2026 SCORE World Desert Championship.

     Despite his young age, Wells has already earned six SCORE season championships, claiming titles in 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2024, and 2025. In both 2024 and 2025, he also secured the prestigious Overall UTV Championship. Wells has additionally captured the coveted SCORE Rod Hall Milestone Award eight consecutive times, from 2018 through 2025, recognizing racers who complete every required mile of the SCORE World Desert Championship season.

FOX SETS THE PACE IN TROPHY TRUCK SPEC

     Ranked third overall in the 2026 SCORE World Desert Championship and leading the Trophy Truck Spec class with 244 points, Brent Fox, 58, Highland, Utah, has put together a stellar first half of the season behind the wheel of his No. 282 1 Nine Industries-Chevy. Fox has been a consistent front-runner in both SCORE races held so far on Mexico's legendary Baja California Peninsula.

      Fox finished fourth at the King Shocks 39th SCORE San Felipe 250 in March and followed that with a runner-up finish at the BFGoodrich Tires 58th SCORE Baja 500 in June, competing against a strong field of 41 Trophy Truck Spec entries across the first two rounds of the season.

      Trey Gibbs, 24, Murrieta, Calif., sits fourth overall in the SCORE World Desert Championship and second in Trophy Truck Spec with 243 points, making the battle for the 2026 class title one of the closest in SCORE competition. Gibbs finished 10th at the SCORE San Felipe 250 before charging to victory at the SCORE Baja 500 in his No. 215 Mason-Ford.

     Holding fifth place overall is Justin Davis, 33, Chino Hills, Calif., with 238 points, good for third in the Trophy Truck Spec class. Driving the No. 285 Green Army Motorsports TSCO-Chevy, Davis earned a third-place finish at the King Shocks 39th SCORE San Felipe 250 in San Felipe, Baja California, before adding a fifth-place result at the BFGoodrich Tires 58th SCORE Baja 500 in Ensenada, Baja California.

TROPHY TRUCK SPEC DOMINATES THE OVERALL STANDINGS

     Among the top 26 racers in the Overall Point Standings of the 2026 SCORE World Desert Championship, Trophy Truck Spec leads all classes with 10 drivers, highlighting the division's remarkable depth and fierce competition. Pro UTV Open ranks second with five racers, followed by Pro UTV FI with four and Pro UTV Stock with three.

     Represented by one racer each in the overall top 26 are SCORE Trophy Truck, SCORE Trophy Truck 2WD, Class 1, and Class 10, following the first two rounds of the 2026 SCORE World Desert Championship.

Scanlon, el líder overall del Campeonato Mundial del Desierto 2026 de SCORE

El también puntero de la clase Pro UTV Stock tras ganar la SCORE San Felipe 250 y la SCORE Baja 500 en su UTV Polaris RZR R Número 3931 del equipo Scanlon/Vanderloo Racing, cuenta con 250 puntos a la mitad de la temporada

 

     ENSENADA, Baja California, México– Craig Scanlon está disfrutando al máximo de su gran pasión, manejar carros de Off-Road en los desiertos de la península mágica de Baja California, y es el líder overall del Campeonato Mundial del Desierto 2026 de SCORE International, tras sus espectaculares triunfos obtenidos por él en la edición 39 de la King Shocks SCORE San Felipe 250, y la edición 58 de la BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 500.

     Con un total de 250 puntos, Scanlon, de 52 años, y de Orange, California, ha vuelto al volante de un UTV Polaris, tras ganarlo todo como fundador del equipo oficial Polaris SCI Motorsports, proyecto en el que estaba asociado con Travis Clarke, y abriendo el camino para que Polaris esté dominando en SCORE, así como en otras partes del mundo.

     El UTV Polaris RZR R Número 3931 del equipo Scanlon/Vanderloo Racing ha gozado de una primera mitad de temporada muy impresionante en SCORE, al dominar en la clase Pro UTV Stock, de la mano del gran campeón de Baja en las motocicletas, Justin Morgan, de 36 años, y de El Cajón, California, quien se sumó también al esfuerzo de Blake Van de Loo, de 58 años, y de Morristown, Arizona, para estar a medio camino de coronarse en este 2026.

Por primera vez en la historia, la legendaria “Madre de todas las carreras fuera de camino” se realizará en forma exclusiva dentro del estado de Baja California Sur.

PASO PERFECTO DE WELLS EN 2026

     Kaden Wells, de 27 años, y de Hurricane, Utah, está a medio camino de ganar el campeonato de la clase Pro UTV FI por segundo año en fila, tras ganar la SCORE San Felipe 250 y la SCORE Baja 500 en su UTV Can-Am Maverick R Número 2925, para sumar un total de 245 puntos.

      Wells ha ganado 6 campeonatos de SCORE en su joven trayectoria, mismos que logró en 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2024 y 2025, en estos dos últimos años fue el campeón overall de SCORE en los UTV´s. También ha ganado en 8 ocasiones el Premio SCORE Rod Hall para los corredores que completan todas las millas de una temporada, de 2018 a 2025 en forma consecutiva.

COMANDA FOX LAS ACCIONES EN LA SPEC

     Tercero en forma overall dentro del Campeonato Mundial del Desierto 2026 de SCORE International, y primero en la clase Trophy Truck Spec con 244 puntos, aparece Brent Fox, de 58 años, y de Highland, Utah, quien ha manejado en las dos primeras fechas su 1 Nine Industries Chevrolet Número 282, y ha estado cerca de la bandera a cuadros en la península de Baja California.

     Fox finalizó cuarto en la SCORE San Felipe 250 en Marzo, y fue segundo en la SCORE Baja 500 en Junio, con 41 equipos participando en las dos primeras carreras de la temporada de SCORE en la clase Trophy Truck Spec.

      Trey Gibbs, de 24 años, y de Murrieta, California, es cuarto lugar overall en SCORE, y segundo en la clase Trophy Truck Spec con 243 puntos, en una batalla bastante pareja por la corona 2026, quien fue décimo en la SCORE San Felipe 250, y luego ganó la SCORE Baja 500 en su Mason con motor Ford Número 215.

      En la quinta posición overall está Justin Davis, de 33 años, y de Chino Hills, California, quien cuenta con 238 puntos, y es tercero en la clase Trophy Truck Spec a bordo de su TSCO Chevrolet Número 285 del equipo Green Army Motorsports. Davis finalizó tercero en la edición 39 de la King Shocks SCORE San Felipe 250 en el puerto de San Felipe, Baja California, y fue quinto en la edición 58 de la BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 500 en Ensenada, Baja California.
